Proper selections in clothing and equipment can
help to ensure that your students have the most
rewarding experience possible with Winter Walden.
If you have any questions regarding outfitting
your children, please know that your questions
are always welcome.
In order to help maintain adequate warmth in cold
temperatures, we recommend several light layers of
clothing, rather than heavy, bulky clothes. Recent
advances in clothing technology allow for much
lighter weight options than were available only a
few years ago. To provide maximum comfort, students
should have the following:
- Thermal Underwear
- Turtleneck Shirt
- Sweater
- Ski Pants
- Nylon Parka
- Ski Socks
- Ski Hat
- Rope Tow Mitts
Equipment is as important as clothing when it comes
to having a fun day at Winter Walden. Properly
fitted boots, skis, poles and snowboards can make
the difference between an OK day, and a great day.
We recommend that your student be present when choosing
equipment. This will ensure that your fitter can provide
you and your student with the best setup. In addition,
skis and snowboards are sized differently today than
they were in the past. A trained equipment specialist
can make recommendations based upon the ability level
of your student, as well as their height and weight and
likelyhood for growth.
Please make sure all articles of clothing and ski
equipment are marked clearly with your child's name to
help prevent them from being lost. Upon picking up your
child at the end of the day, please check to make sure
that he or she has all of their own equipment.
We understand that any student can misplace items during
the day. We collect any lost articles from the resort,
as well as any items left on the bus, and store them at the
Winter Walden office for your convenience. You can call
the Winter Walden membership information line at
248-855-1075 to inquire about lost items.
